Locations
The Exam Schedule lists the locations where DEP conducts operator qualification exams. Check out the exam pages for more information regarding exam topics, exam conditions and conditions, and additional guidelines. If you require special accommodations because of chronic illness, hearing or visual impairment, or any other disability, contact the exam provider and provide the information when you register.
Faculty can find their exam times through the "View My Teaching Schedule" task on the Faculty Dashboard in Workday. Additionally, the Registrar's Office has a list of exam times for courses where an exam is required by NYSED regulations. Final exams for classes that are held in the evenings are scheduled for the regular class times of the final examination weeks.
Please note that the Projected University Examination Schedule is only a guideline and that final exam dates are subject to change.
Registration
Students are advised to check the exam schedule online. It is important to keep in mind that the final schedule of exams can change at any time. Students should therefore inquire with their instructors for the exact time and date of their test. Students should also be sure to print out the official list and bring it for their exams.
In addition to the exam schedule, students should also familiarize themselves with the exam guidelines, conditions and terms. These are accessible on the individual exam page. After registering, students acknowledge that they have read and agree to these terms and conditions.
Exam sites try their best to accommodate participants who have special requirements. The nature and degree of these needs must be declared on the registration form, and then confirmed by an attestation of a doctor. The locations for the exam must be able to respect confidentiality and keep it.
If a student is scheduled to take three tests on the same day, they must contact their department or instructor to schedule a make-up test. While it is possible to take three tests in one day, this can cause a high stress level and can affect the quality of the exam. In addition, the professor may not be able to offer a makeup exam on a different day.
Students must review the course material prior to taking the test and work on their German skills. The test is a written test that measures your ability to read and write German. The results of the test are presented using a scale ranging from A1 to C2. Students who pass the test receive an Goethe-Zertifikat. The certificate demonstrates the that they have achieved the level of A1 in their language. This level is the first level of the six-level scale of competence that is set out in the Common European Framework of Reference for Foreign Languages. The test is free of cost. Students must bring a valid government issued ID to the test. If they do not present a valid photo ID will be disqualified from the exam.
Fees
If you have completed your studies at Elan Academy and wish to obtain a Goethe-Zertifikat A1 (start German 1), you will need to pay the examination fee. This is in addition to the course fees.
Practice assessments give you an overview of the format, wording and difficulty of questions on the test. They help you evaluate your proficiency, identify gaps in your knowledge and increase your chances of passing the test.
Please note that the exam fee is not refundable. The results of the examination are only available via email and not by telephone.
